Somalia’s security ministry has warned traders in the capital, Mogadishu, not to comply with al-Shabab orders.
Ministry spokesman Abdiaziz Ali Ibrahim said Mogadishu was under the control of the government whir “cannot accept the traders complying with al-Shabab”.
Ibrahim warned owners of football stadiums in Mogadishu against giving money to the group.
“There are investigations going on and any party that is found to have sent money to them through mobile money transfer, money remittance companies or banks, they will be taken before the military court,” he said.
On Monday, the government warned stadium owners in the capital against adhering to an order issued by al-Shabab.
